What Comes After Remix?

The intent of this project was to utilize Manovich’s commentary on remix culture and do just that with the provided magazines. In an ode to a Lev Manovich’s 2007 article, here I carved out a randomly placed 4”x4” square out of four magazines, scanned the images in and created a collage with them along with excerpts from Manovich’s text.

My personal goal was to match the color and emotion of the images I had collected from my cutouts. I wanted each page to raise questions on what was going on in the original images as well as the scenes I had created.
